I’m currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Registered Art Therapist with over 8 years of experience providing culturally sensitive mental health treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and families. I utilize an Attachment Therapy and Psychodynamic Theory lens to better understand my clients, and intervene using Solution-Focused, Family Systems, and/or Cognitive-Behavioral therapies. Art therapy adds an added tool to help me better understand your unique needs. I incorporate various art activities into my sessions to help facilitate open communication, deeper insight into troubling issues, and promote relaxation while in session. I also work from a Christian perspective and believe that acknowledging the spiritual aspect of one’s life is important in maintaining adequate mental health. I like to incorporate prayer, references to scriptures, and other spiritual practices into sessions to solidify gains made towards goals. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to serve His people in this manner, and I truly do enjoy seeing my clients meet their goals.
On top of my licensure as Registered Art Therapist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I maintain certifications in Seeking Safety and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I’m also working towards certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I’m a graduate of Pepperdine University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a graduate of Loyola Marymount University where I received my Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy, with a Specialization in Clinical Art Therapy.
